when I go to the save screen and save the game, it just hangs/locks up on the "Saving Game. Please do not turn off your xbox console."

solution:

You must set the date and time before playing otherwise you cannot save gave. In the xbox dash, boot machine to ms dash / or older dashboard that has time config screen, set date and time then load game.

my system date was way off, maybe battery is going bad... the date was way into the future... once i got that right, save game worked fine.

other folks report that loading in 3 other games helped them, clear out the cache. not sure about that, maybe you should stand on your head and repeat 'there's no place like home at the same time' ?

oh, and clear out some hd space. if needed.
