programming

here's list of a few trick keyboard shortcuts for windows, word & excel.

"No To All" -If you hold down the SHIFT key as you click on the "No" box, Windows will interpret this as "No to all" - saving you all kinds of time (and mouseclicks). Similar with Delete (during recycle prompt).

Control-C on a message box -puts the message on the clipboard.

=rand(x,y) -In Word, typing the preceding (where X is the number of paragraphs and Y is the number of sentences) generates random text, which is sometimes helpful for figuring layouts in a document.

ALT+Highlight -In Word, allows you to highlight text block (vertically). I use this feature in VisualStudio all the time. nice to see this in more programs include this type of block selection.

SHIFT+* -open all of the subfolders for a drive or folder in the tree view of Windows Explorer.

SHIFT+F3 - In Word, cycles highlight text through UPPER, lower and Pascal Case... (no camel Case though).

Shift+Click on a scrollbar - holding down the SHIFT key while clicking on an area in the scroll bar will take you to that spot. equivalent of middle-clicking a scrollbar in most unix.

Spreadsheet, copy as image... hold down the SHIFT key and click Edit > Copy Picture.
