i've had internet 'everywhere' for years now. yes it's nice. yes, you want this. prices have come down a lot too, which is great. oh, we still need better coverage and speed.

there is a commercial on the air now making wifi 'hotspots' look like a total pain, painting the experience in the worst possible light - as if you couln't possibly use the internet without spilling coffee all over you. this kind of marketing is just annoying.
portland very progressive in this area, but typically overlooked by the media empires. kinda frustrating when something we've been up to for years hits the big city, like new york, and gets reported as if it's totally new - invented by other folks. guess i'm discovering that most reporters just aren't that thorough.
another problem in this area is while many municipalities are looking to cover their own cities in wifi clouds, network vendors like verizon are suing them, preventing to from doing what i consider, completely legal.
