electronics

i took some photos of my 'final scratch' records, when they caught my eye in the sunlight. you can see the timecode pattern on record.

everything is finally set up now - new laptop, turntable case with pre-amps and maya44 sound card, all wired up. the turntables are wired up both directly to the mixer, as well through the sound card on separate cues. so i can switch back and forth from tradition vinyl to a digital interface.

here's a waveform profile of the timecode signal...

the entire setup is rather heavy and a chore to move. takes up fair amount of room too. but one trip and it's done, everything pre-wired. looks nice too. i decided on the odyssey case that doubles as it's own free standing table. useful option, when needed.

originally i wanted a case with battle style tables and a 19" mixer - but they don't make those. i think i almost talked them into it, pointing out the measurements would in fact work. they do custom work as well... i'm fine with the way it is though.

i'm thinking about adding a numark cdx to the collection. separate case.
